Demo!

Yesterday, I spent most of the day being filmed at Cheap Joes' (Art Stuff) headquarters!

I demo'd quite a few projects and products....it took awhile to get used to talking while painting, and to talking to the camera as though it was a person.

In the end, it was a pretty fun experience; I'll include the video clips after they're released (and sorry, Holly: this is NOT your wedding painting I'm working on here!)

Cheers,

Susan

dear baby

"dear baby, this is your world".....painting for Jay and Pen's babe! All that it is needed is sweet baby's handprint, in between mum's and dad's.

Intend to make book using poem at top of the "world" and closeup snaps of the painting.

dear baby, you are already loved!

Quilt Square

Many, many moons ago, I designed this cow template to be used with pottery glazes. My friend, Terrie Hancock Mangat, had built a kiln and we were working together.

Later Terrie made a fabulous quilt using this template....which she generously gave to me; it now graces our living room. This weekend, I was inspired to make a collaged quilt square using favorite papers (thank you, Holly), recycled paintings and painted stitches.

Cheers!

Joy Line

OK, time to unveil the Joy "line".
What do you think?
Now would someone please explain to me how to market these sweeties?

Cheers,
Susan

Mother and Child Su San Fan

This Su San Fan is made from a print of a large (think life sized but not quite) mixed media painting. Actually, it's Mother, Child, and Holy Ghost. See if you can find the Holy Ghost!

I'm not being sacrilegeous, really. To me, this is a very spiritual painting.

Cheers!
Susan
ps the fan is a bargain; art and utility for $9!

Su San Fans: Cows in a Field

The original Cows in a Field painting was my very first real painting created while living in a small farmhouse on a horse farm in Kentucky, where a herd of charlois cattle would watch me. And me them. Their curiosity and my fascination paired up for my very first painting...and my very first cow painting ever.

That oil painting sold and was later recreated in mixed media; the cows' poses being the same as in the original. The newer painting also sold, and prints are now being made into Su San Fans!

A bargain; functional art for $9.

cheers,
Susan

Ladies in the Hot Tub; Su San Fan!

Newest in the Su San Fan line are fans from my prints; here's the Ladies in the Hot Tub made into a fan! They are going for $9, and are available online (contact me) or at Sara Schneidman Gallery in Culpepper, Va.

Su San Fans

I made this fan for my neice's upcoming wedding. I think hand fans are essential in this heat, and wedding fans are the perfect solution for out door weddings! This one was made from the Bird of Paradise flower used on the couple's invitation; the original fan goes to the bride....(there are 7 other originals, until I had the bright idea to start making copies.)

A new business is in the making....Su San Fans!
I've got a million (at least) ideas.....

cheers,
Susan
